Castle of importance

The castle belongs to the people of Grabs and gives its name to Werdenberg district, in the canton of St. Gallen. At the top of a hill, testimony to the enclave's geostrategic importance as part of the natural passage between eastern and western Europe. From the castle see beautiful views of the Rhine valley of St. Gallen, the mountains of Austria, Lietchenstein and Grabs. At the foot of the castle is a beautiful natural lake where ducks and swans can be seen and where locals stroll and rest when the weather allows. Also there is the old Grabs, the oldest houses preserved in Europe. Undoubtedly, the castle and its surroundings are full of beauty.
