June 19, 2024These Brooks are my new favorite running shoe! I actually haven’t reached for my former favorites since I started running in these Revel 7’s. The fit and feel is spot on. I’ve been running marathons for six years and pack a lot of miles on my shoes depending on where I'm at in my training. I also struggle with chronic knee pain, so having adequate support is crucial. These Brooks feel perfectly natural while running. They offer the support needed in my arch and heel without feeling like I’m running on a thick platform that absorbs my momentum. The mesh material on top is light and breathable, and the toe box is wide enough to accommodate my feet. (While my feet aren’t particularly wide, previous brands I’ve tried post-pregnancy have been too narrow in the toe box.) I also love how the tongue of the shoe isn’t simply an afterthought, but rather a legitimate addition to the shoe! It’s well cushioned, allowing you to tie your laces snug without having them pinch the tops of your feet. While I don’t prioritize the look of a running shoe, I do happen to like this design. The grey is sharp and not overly distracting. They perform great on road and gravel path, which is where I spend most of my miles. In addition to running, I’ve been grabbing them for biking and walking simply because I find them so comfortable. I’ll probably pull back on that to increase their running life, but it’s nice to have a shoe that works for multiple fitness activities. Perhaps to sum it up, when I run in these - I’m simply not aware of them. They’re doing their job, and I’m enjoying the run!

June 22, 2024When putting on these shoes (the Revel 7) for the first time, I was surprised by how comfortably roomy they felt! I have a wide-ish foot, so a lot of the time, running shoes start extremely tight on the sides for me. Not so with these! They only got more comfortable on the sides as time went on and I ran in them more.
The color combo that I got-- purple, gray, and gold-- is really nice and matches most of my sportswear. I have an eleven-year-old stepdaughter who is training for Cross Country, and she keeps stealing them, so that MUST mean they are cool. They are lightweight yet supportive in the right places. The fabric is breathable but doesn't feel cheap.
Also, these go on really easily, which is an especially big deal for my impatient stepdaughter who doesn't like to take the time to tie things. The biggest wish my stepdaughter had regarding these shoes is that the gold in the pattern was placed on the outside rather than the inside. I have no complaints either way--like I said above, they match well with most of my activewear!
All in all, I would say this is a Goldilocks shoe--just right! If an eleven-year-old and a 32-year-old can wear the same thing without either of us feeling embarrassed, then I'd say that thing has a pretty classic design. We both love the Revel 7 and have found these shoes to be useful, comfortable, and stylish!

June 20, 2024For a casual runner (2-4 miles, 2-3x/week), these Brooks Revel 7 running shoes were fairly comfortable right from the start, without any need to break them in. The gray and purple fabric is stylish and form-fitting. While I tend to wear brands that accommodate for my wider feet and have never worn Brooks before, the toebox area of the shoes were surprisingly wide enough to accommodate for wider feet. The soles of the shoes have decent cushioning for support but are also light and not too bouncy. Because I do have wider feet, I did have to really loosen up the shoelaces, which made them a little short. A nice side benefit to loosening up the laces is that I am also able to slip my feet into and out of the shoes hands-free. However, there was a limit to how wide it could go at the start of the laces as the fabric could not stretch any further. If I could change one thing, it would probably be to make the fabric at the start of the laces more flexible because that was the tightest part of the shoe. Other than that, these are very comfortable and stylish running shoes that I would recommend to other runners.
[Rewarded Review] Great Rotational Shoe

June 22, 2024The Revel 7 is great neutral running shoe. I have a pretty neutral gait, but tend to supinate when I’m going long distances/tired. This shoe fits comfortably and true to size, there’s a wee bit of a spring-like feel to it, which is a bit of a morale booster when you’re just DONE with the training. My feet don’t feel as though they’ve overheated whilst running on the pavement, and I’m left with a rather comfy feel after a training session. I like to rotate my shoes during the week and this has definitely made its way into my rotation. I’m not a huge fan of the colorway, it’s not bad, just not my preferred style. It’s pretty on-brand with Brooks other styles, so it looks like any other running shoe on the market, nothing that makes it stand out against the slew of other running shoes. It’s a great road-running shoe for short distances, not quite sure I’d trust it for any training of great length though. I’m a die-hard Brooks running shoe fan, they make great shoes for all pronation types and running styles. Will definitely be adding more Revels into my rotation.
