Steam locomotive BR 83.10 of the DR, Era IV Steam locomotive BR 83.10 of the DR, Era IV Prototype: Locomotive 83 1027-8 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, Rdb Magdeburg, Bw Haldensleben Rev. date 10.02.70. With the newly designed PIKO BR 83.10 of the DR, there is now for the first time an operational mass-produced model of this extraordinary locomotive type. In keeping with the special nature of the prototype, the finely detailed PIKO model can also present itself as an outstanding locomotive. The striking locomotive in a three-dome design with three-light headlights impresses with the excellent implementation of the prototype proportions and comes with a large number of extra parts, including many fine cables, smoke deflectors, bell, whistle, lids on the water tanks, alternator, steps to the buffer beam, ladders, handrails, heating lines and sand pipes. The fine spoked wheels, the delicate controls and the detailed interior of the driver's cab make the locomotive an eye-catcher on the layout. The PIKO BR 83.10 is also technically state-of-the-art and has cab lighting, firebox lighting, chassis lighting, LED headlights and the option of equipping the locomotive with a smoke generator. The powerful motor, in combination with 2 built-in traction tires, provides sufficient tractive power for all prototypical train compositions. Installing a digital decoder and retrofitting with sound is no problem. Brake hoses, draw hooks and long protective tubes are included with the model.
